Variety - Fridriksson's boldest stroke is to set contempo story in a Neverland town, Niceland (pop. 1,000,002), that looks Nordic in light and decor but sounds Scottish given most of the main cast hail from north of Hadrian's Wall. Not entirely successful result creates a fey, alternative world through a mix of sets and location work in Iceland and Germany. People mostly live in tasteful, Ikea-dressed homes in the sort of wacky architecture rarely seen in Scot-land, but talk using a mixture of Clydeside glottal stops and Icelandic-accented English.
